By completing a course that is accredited by a well known body such as Institution of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH), PASMA etc they are an established training system with quality control systems in place and competent trainers delivering the course. Some clients and principal contractors may stipulate certain certificates taking the decision out of your hands.
When shopping for training courses you need to be careful not to get drawn in to buying the wrong one. Cheap online courses might not be sufficient or in-depth for your needs but then a multi-day course might be completely over the top for your requirements.
It’s easy to get overwhelmed with a general internet search, so we recommend that you follow some simple steps:
- What specific training is required for your employee?
- Is there a minimum standard or a good reason to follow a certain route?
- Search the HSE’s web site for a specific topic for guidance.
